Shifting gears frothing cold brew's and the smell of bacon on a Friday morning. What more do you need to get excited about the Breakfast Burrito Ride? Roll out and enjoy some coastal miles of smiles with local cycling clubs and industry partners while fundraising for The Pablove Foundation.
Eliel Cycling has brought together industry partners Peloton Magazine, IRC Tires, YMCA, Selle Italia, WEND Performance, Gravelstoke, Canyon, ENVE, & BadSea Coffee to elevate this community experience. BadSea coffee will be serving cold brew coffee pre-ride to get the morning started. A no drop ride starting from Canyon USA Bicycles at 8AM, May 3rd. The ride will take us to the top of Torrey Pines, returning back to Canyon for Breakfast Burritos. ENVE will have a handful of demo wheel sets so come early and don't miss a free ride! Riders can donate by purchasing a BBR event T-shirt for $25. T-shirts will be rolled up in tinfoil replicating a burrito and inserted into their back jersey pocket.
The birth of the Breakfast Burrito Ride in 2018 was Eliel's idea of a community event the Friday before our biggest local event of the year, the Belgian Waffle Ride. Why? The obvious is in the name, bikes and breakfast burritos. But why? What better way to bring our cycling community together to have fun and raise money to fight childhood cancer. Today, 46 families were told their child has cancer. When one child is diagnosed, an entire community is forever impacted. For every dollar the National Institutes of Health puts toward cancer, only four cents go to children’s cancer research. Pablove directly addresses this gross inequity, driving Powered by Pablove seed grants specifically to pediatric cancer researchers committed to finding treatments and cures. These $50,000 grants serve a very specific purpose—to give their recipients the data and evidence they need to qualify for larger grants, federal funding and go to clinical trial.
