Thermal T3 Jacket
Our Thermal Collection was designed and produced to arm riders with the gear to ride through all conditions. Using technical fabrics to optimize protection from the elements, our products will have you riding through the winter.
This is a really great jacket. I live in Asheville, Nc and we have an "actual" winter. This is a great jacket for that 15-40 degree day and it allows you to layer under it or simply wear one layer. So there is room but doesn't fit baggy. I ordered a large and it fits like all my other winter jackets from other brands. The rear 3 pockets are easy to use and find your nutrition or phone without having to take your gloves off. The front/left chest pocket is great for your phone, a few bucks for a coffee break and also a tube of chap stick...cause let's face it, dry, cracked lips none of us have time for. If this jacket was offered in a vest I would buy it as a alternative for days when its 40-50 but windy and you just need the chest covered and not the arms. My only compliant about the jacket is I would like to see more material on the inside of the stand up collar, more fleece just as a barrier and the "zipper garage" at the top to house the end of the zipper when zipped up needs to be reinforced more so it cover more of the zipper handle. It's find but it would give it more of a polised off look and feel if that material that is there is doubled up and actually will hold the zipper end when zipped up. Other then, that jacket is good to go and the price I think is good. $275 is good. There are winter jackets out there that are $300 and up and they are not as good of quality as this one. Buy it and get out on your bike and enjoy yourself.
The T3 jacket is exactly what I was looking for to get through NY winters. I've had many jackets over my 20 years of racing but none has fit me as well as this one. The key is that the front (zipper) length isn't too long. My size small has a zipper length of about 21 inches. Most companies seem to think that we get taller in winter and increase the length of their cool/cold weather tops. Extremely frustrating when it causes the zipper to bulge or you have to tuck inches of fabric underneath, both making even the thinnest guy look fat. I have a short torso and wide shoulders (39) so finding something that fits is tough. With summer jerseys that are stretchy it's not hard to fit into a small but with jackets with less stretch it's not as easy. I'm 5'5" and 127-130lbs. I wear a small summer jersey and bibs. The softshell fabric is perfect even down to 22F real-feel temps here in NY last week. The arms are roomy without causing too much wind flap. The double zipper is great. I like the chest pocket for ID, money or even your phone. There is a security pocket in the rear right pocket as well. The extended rear "butt flap" I thought would be annoying but I don't even feel it. This helps keep road spray off your butt but when it's dry I will sometimes fold it up underneath. I've worn this jacket with only a light SS base layer in the upper 30s-40s and with a light long sleeved when it dipped below freezing. I tend to run hot, though. It's very breathable so perfect for those days with major fluctuations in temps or going uphill, just unzip to vent. Paired with a light neck gaiter and you're all set. Reflective detailing on the wrists, and back pockets and butt flap helps you "be seen".
The material of this jacket is great. Lightweight and stretchy where it needs to be and keeps me warm when the temps dip below 40 degrees here in New England. This is my go-to jacket for winter fat biking and colder road rides. The waterproofing has held up well so far: I've had this jacket for a year and mostly use it in the snow and wet conditions. The reflective bits on the sleeves and rear pocket are a nice touch. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who gets cold easily or just wants a nice fitted jacket that makes them feel fast even when the temp drops. I would reccomend sizing up if you like to run layers underneath. I usually wear a small in Eliel jerseys and opted for a medium in this: perfect fit with a baselayer and neck buff.
